Bodywork at White Pine Wellness

All services at White Pine Wellness are viewed through the lens of Thai Medicine: an over 2,800-year-old healing system rooted in Thailand. Thai Bodywork, Cupping, Tok Sen, Amatarot, Bone Setting, Hot Herbal Compress, Death Doula support, Energy Work, and the herbs used in session all exist under this umbrella of care.

Each bodywork session is uniquely curated for the individual receiving it.

To begin, you’ll fill out a detailed intake form. From there, I’ll reach out to schedule a New Client Phone Consultation so we can determine if we’re a good fit. If it feels aligned, we’ll book your first session, which is two hours in length.

This extended first appointment allows us to thoroughly explore your concerns and gives me space to assess what may be happening in your body, mind, and daily habits. Afterward, we’ll discuss my findings, and you’ll receive a follow-up email outlining what we covered, along with personalized recommendations and supportive “homework” to help guide you toward a more balanced baseline of health.

These sessions matter deeply to me. I intentionally keep my schedule spacious so I can devote my full presence and attention to each client.

Are you ready to take a different journey in to self- care that will not only allow you to feel better but will help you to get better at feeling?

Over 2,500 years old, Thai Bodywork is part of the traditional healthcare system native to Thailand. It is not a spa treatment, but a therapeutic medical art rooted in assessment, observation, and individualized care.

Unlike many Western massage modalities, Thai Bodywork is traditionally performed on a mat on the floor, with the receiver fully clothed. Sessions can also be adapted to a massage table depending on specific needs, injuries, or physical limitations.

My approach has been shaped by clinical training and my time studying with Dr. Nooy out of Thailand, whose work emphasizes understanding patterns in the body rather than simply chasing symptoms. That lens informs every session.

Within Thai Bodywork, I may integrate Tok Sen (a rhythmic tapping technique that helps release deeply held tension and restore movement), Amatarot (a traditional long-handled tool used in a scraping, flossing motion to stimulate nerves, influence fascia, mobilize tissue and even work along bone), herbal compress therapy for the abdomen and other parts of the body, cupping or other traditional techniques depending on what your body presents that day.

These methods are not add-ons—they are woven intentionally into the treatment when appropriate.

Sessions are always customized. Some feel grounding and restorative. Others focus more directly on chronic pain patterns, injuries, postural imbalances, or long-standing restriction.

The goal is not just temporary relief, but improved function, mobility, and long-term resilience.

This is hands-on medicine. Intentional, collaborative and rooted in tradition.

Frequently asked questions:

Once I do a phone consult, do I have to commit to a number of sessions? The short answer is no, you do not have to pre-book a number of sessions to start. Depending on the body and the causes, one session can correct a lot if not all issues. After that, I suggest preventative care with one of my students at least once a month for “tune ups.” In the case where you have more imbalances in the body or it’s a bit more stubborn, I would suggest to do at least 4 sessions. Regardless, we always touch base at the end of each session to see what the next step should be.

What does the first session include? The first session is a full 2 hours and costs $250. This also includes the time I spend after our session to write up an email for you of everything we discussed and suggestions I have in regards to diet, herbs, mobility and mindfulness exercises. During the session, I will effectively work some of your specific areas of concern as well as just get a general idea of your health and mobility.

Do I always receive just a Thai Massage during the session? No. Thai Massage is a general term here at the center. All of my sessions are uniquely curated for your body and mind. Depending on what we discuss and what you write down on the form will decide how I treat you.
I work with a lot of different tools, so sometimes, I will work with hot compresses if you’re experiencing stomach distress or tight muscles. I’ll work with Tok Sen and Amatarot if you need some deeper, more rythmic work to stimulate the nerves. We’d work with cupping if you have scar tissue and other inflammatory issues that simply aren’t letting up. I’d also do bone setting and body balancing if I notice you’re out of alignment. I’ll focus on talk therapy, energy work, light stretches and sound healing if we notice your nervous system is dis-regulated. And I give you suggestions along the way to keep you empowered in your own life.

Do I always have to do 2 hours after the first session? No. You are welcome to do 60, 90, or 120min sessions.

What if I can’t afford the sessions? I offer a sliding scale at my Spot Specific 60min session. We can still get a lot accomplished but I only offer it once a month per client.
