WHY TOK SEN?

As massage therapists and bodyworkers, we spend our careers learning different ways to work with the body. But sometimes our hands aren't the best tool for every tissue or every client.
Tok Sen gives you another way to work.

Tok Sen is a traditional Northern Thai technique using a wooden hammer and wedge to create therapeutic vibration through the body. The rhythmic vibration can help soften muscular tension, work with fascial restriction and bring movement to dense or restricted areas of tissue while also giving your hands and joints a break from constant manual pressure.

Tok Sen isn't simply another technique to add to your menu.

It's a specialized tool that can change how you approach a treatment.

This immersive, hands-on training goes beyond learning a basic sequence. You'll learn the tools, techniques, body mechanics and clinical principles needed to incorporate Tok Sen thoughtfully into your existing bodywork practice.

And why Herbal Compress?

We’ll be tying in Thai Herbal Compresses because it’s a lovely complement to Tok Sen! How to use them and when it’s appropriate.

What we'll cover

  • History & traditional context

  • Tools, technique & practitioner mechanics

  • Safety & contraindications

  • Full-body applications

  • Rhythm, pressure & vibration
