What is it: Over 2500 years old, Thai bodywork is part of the traditional healthcare system native to Thailand. Unlike other massage modalities, Thai massage is primarily done on the floor, on a mat, while the receiver is fully dressed. It can also be done on a massage table based on specific needs and the bodies limitations. Thai bodywork is especially effective at loosening stuck areas in the body, allowing greater movement and healthier function to result. Treatments are always customized to an individual’s current needs, which can range from therapeutic and nurturing to spot-specific deep work on injuries and stubborn tension.

What it looks like: Upon your first meeting we will chat about everything going on in your body/mind/daily routines and eating habits. Sarah will address the body accordingly for each session with a goal of bringing your body back to its base line. This may include giving you ‘homework’ to take home that will help keep your body and mind progressing to a healthier state. This homework may include meditations, yogic stretches for your body, supplements to purchase and changes in diet.

What it’s good for: Thai bodywork can treat a variety of conditions, and may be effective treatment for:

  • Stress reduction and relaxation

  • Injury and surgery recovery

  • Repetitive motion conditions in athletes and active people

  • Chronic pain and tension

  • Migraines

  • Jaw misalignment and discomfort

  • Nerve pain and problems
